my freakin belt keeps squeekin and its drivin me nuts!! its not the loud squeek, its like every other second, it goes, chirp...chirp chirp. grrrrrr!!! and it seems when i press the brakes it goes away, but i opened the hood, and its definitaly comin from the belt area. the thing is though, i had a real bad squeek about a year ago, got that fixed at the dealership, it comes back 4 months later, and the dealership changes it out again free of cost. its not as nearly as bad as then, but its still aggrivating! i dont wanna bring it back and lose my car for a day or 2 just for a belt. anything i can do for it? thanks.

cool. well i went to walmart and got me a can. let it idle, and sprayed the underside of the belt. at first, the squeekin got louder, but i sprayed to make sure it probably covered the entire belt, and after a minute, the squeekin went away! :boogie: but got a 50 min drive to school in the mornin, ill see if it comes back. thanks!

right after i changed my alternator i got a similar squeek, that was not there before changing the alt. Is this my idler pulley??? or could it be the belt...

the reason i am confused is because i had no squeeks before the alt. change

it's not bad to change, just some patience and a couple cut knuckles... :D
