What is the normal running temp on a 3400 v6? mine usually runs about 200 or a couple tics above that, and it just seems way high to me.

mine runs at 200 on the highway and stuff, but sitting at a red light or somethin for awhile, it may go a tick or 2 above. im sure its normal. if ur worried, turn on the heat to level 3 or 4, and point the air outside, or close the vents next to u, and point the ones on the passanger side out the window, away from u. brings the temp to about a tick below 200 when i do that. usually do that at red lights when it goes around 2 ticks above.

Ya, easy way to cool down your engine is just turn the heat on. The blowing air on the hot coolant will cool it down. Another way is to have a fan switch. Another way is a lower t-stat. The list can go on.

But average driving should be between 190-210, and average sitting at a light should be between 200-230

Mine is usally around 2 ticks above also. Anouther easy to cool it down when it gets hot is to turn on your a/c or defroster that will trip on your high speed fans and cool it back down to about 190.

mine runs at 90 is that normal , thats 1/2 way on the gauge, sometimes 1 tick more

I'm guessing half way on Canada guages is right, also. Couldn't tell ya for sure, 'cause I don't live there.
Mine sits around 180 when driving, and 200 to maybe two ticks above that at a light or sitting still. (I have the Hypertech 180 degree thermostat)

Stock T Stat in a 3400 is 195 F. So yeah like everyone said they run around 200 driving and up to 230 sitting in warmer weather.

Stock t-stat is 197F. Atleast the one I got was. It wont open till about 205 tho.

My car always sits a notch or two above 200. Never gets lower then that when warmed up. It goes alot higher, but never on, or below 200.

Man... I must have some sort of radiator freak car. Even in the middle of July when it's in the mid 40s (110+F) outside, my temp gauge barely goes about the midway point. I don't think I've ever heard my fan turn on except for when the A/C is on.

90 degrees celsius is normal. One summer night I ran into 110 territory and turning on the heater fan helps cool this down. It acts like a second rad on engine temp. You may also want to check fuse#8 on the relay center inder the hood. Its a 30A for the cooling system and mine was blown, so that may fix the problem
