View Full Version : Gasket Replaced...NOW WHAT!?!

I had my lower intake gasket replaced. Get the car back today and the SES light is on. The temp gauge on the dash is not working. Also, my transmission jumps when I put it into gear. And it doesn't matter what gear (R or D). So my question is, where is the temp gauge sensor and where does it plug in? Also, will the tranny reset after a while. The guy told me that it would take some time to reset the calibration because the computer was reset. Is this bull? :wtf

Bull, take it back, sounds like the temp sensor was damaged or left unplugged

The temp sensor is under the throttlebody on the left side. It's on the lower intake itself.

Thanks for your help. I found the temp sensor but it was plugged in. However I took it back to the shop and the guy traced the wire to a harness next to the alternator. A wire had broken and that was the problem. That stopped the transmission from jerking too.
IT's amaizing what a little wire can do to screw up your whole car.
