Why don't our cars have this by stock means? I know the wheel wells have the underbody coating to protect from road stuff and salt (in states that have it) but where the muffler is, the bottom of the car doesnt have anything.

What would be the best stuff? 3M? I am also posting this because my VW needs an undercoat in some areas (where it has fallen off over time) and would like to know what the best stuff is to use.

TIA

I buy it. Rustoleum's been making rust inhibiting paint for years.

As far as Hexx's question. The reason they don't do it probably has to do with the dealer and or other companies. Dealers will undercoat the car for an extra cost. Just a way to get more money out of the customers.
