I plan on putting a body kit on my car, but I've been having a hard time locating any kits. if you know of any sites that have body kits for a 98 grand am Gt please post them. THANX!

I'm pretty sure there's a company called FXdesign that makes one for older grand am's. Trying PM'ing cavingman for their website, he had their front end on his old GA.

FX Designs (http://www.compusmart.ab.ca/fx/GM.htm)
scroll down til u see 96-98 grand am
front and rear fascias

Andy's Auto Sport (http://www.andysautosport.com/pontiac/96_98grandam.html)
full body kits (front, rear and sides) for 2 and 4 door. If you have a GT you have to cut the bottom of your old rocker panels off because the rocker panel goes 1/2 way up the car where as w/ the SE the rocker panel is only the bottom piece

Really?......do you think it is worth it then......I am going to have a shop do it for me.....install, sand and paint.....If it isn't worth it, I wont do it, will save the money for maybe new heads and intake. Whould you do it?

i wouldnt do it cause

A) i already have *** stuff
B) because i dont like the fact that you are putting a kit on your car that EVERY other car can get
3) if u got the money let it rip...who knows... some people havent had too much of a fitment problem. Your best bet is to wait until people who actually have an andy's kit speak up on this issue cause i dont know firsthand how the fitment is, ive just heard its harsh

mmmm, Just wondering because here, everyone has a GA, No one has a kit......Grrrr I want one but dont want to pay for something that looks like :vomit:

On your *** what was the damages on the paint job, snading, etc? :stupid:

well, i put the kit on myself and i have a private guy doing it up right now. Originally he was going to charge me 1500 to repaint the whole car and the kit (but thats the *** hood, fenders, tails, front n rear, sides, door panels and wing). But then i got a bunch of other stuff done so it is more. Basically, you shouldnt be spending more than 800 to have ure kit painted (well thats the average around my area)

actually, a LOT of people have kits. Some have the ***, a couple guys have the RK Sport kit and a couple have the andys kit.

do a search for RK Sport kit and Andys Auto Sport kit (or AAS) and you should find a bunch of threads related to all the kits.

as far as the looks are concerned, its all about people's opinion...everyone has a different flava, but at the end of the day, its what you like that counts ya know?

I think when everything is said and done, the car is measured by the size of the balls under the hood. Granted, it's still a GA, but I'd keep the money for the heads and intake, like you said.

I think that is what I am going to do! If I can get a custom job by a local guy I think that is the way I will go, but for now, I think I am going to use the kit money for CAI (3rd stage), New heads, Intake, Exhaust, anf throttle body.

What do you think about that peromance CPU I have seen floating around? :stupid:

About how much additional does it cost to have the Kato Combat 2-door ($750) kit painted and installed?

^ I had my *** front and sides painted and some other things repaired for alittle over $1000. That was painted and installed.( I see your in DE) If your looking around for a shop I'd recommend Brandywine Auto Body, its where I went, they did a great job and I'll be going back there whenever I need work done.
