I've been thinking alot recently about the number of body kits available for our cars....and I have heard many people asking about mixing and matching different parts, and what would flow with each other.

I am now decided on the rksport side skirts/door panels w/ *** front and rear, with no spoiler of any kind. Maybe if I decide it looks good, I'll go with an SD hood too.

I just hope rksport puts out quality side panels and skirts.

What does everyone think about the idea of the RK/*** mixing?

Please no flaming....I really want to get an opinion here. :boogie:

Hrmmm....interesting but I don't really care for any kit out there except for the SC/T kit. I know it makes the car look stock, but it is the most badass not overly riced kit out there.

you mean overly *P*riced kit out there?

kinda easy to take that out of context....and you just know there's plenty of people on these boards ready to flame about the R word.

i think it'll look good.. I think I like the rk rear better than the *** rear though.

Ok well I take back the R word, because in all actuallity I mean most kits suck ass for our car. Wait, that means the same thing in my book. R*** is anything that someone doesn't like about another person's car....at least that's what I think.

Most kits are overly done IMHO. I would like a company to make a kit that keeps some of the original look of the GA.

I don't want to make it sound like I don't like all your cars here now...I do like some of the GA cars with kits...it just depends on color and what other things are done to the car (eg. what lights you got, interior accents, etc).

Good luck though Arctic

I think it'll look pretty good. I see people mix and match different body kits all the time on other cars, why not on the GA too? Here's my own idea:

*** sides, SC/T rear lip, and either the RK or *** front. I think that'd look badass. But that's just my opinion.

Go for it man. If you like it, that's all that matters.

Then you're stuck with lines only on the rear bumper? That will look ghey.

I think the RK rear is equally as ugly as the Andy's rear. *** rear would be a great replacement. I'm not sure how the front will sit in relation to the side skirts. The heights may be a little off.

My problem with AEDs kit is the boxy style. It makes the car look like a big square, heavy turd. And the spoiler is hideous. It looks OK on 4 doors though. Also, I don't understand teh sideskirts, why are the front edge of the *** sideskirts thicker than the back edge??

Oh, and r1ce is not a term to descrive what you don't like about a car...that is people's definitions when they own something ricey. R1ce is anything that is pointless, clearly ugly, and cheap, and does nothing to support the performance of the car or its authenticity. If I were to take the 2002 Spirit R emblems from the Japanese RX7 and put them on my 1994, that = ricing.

Yeah you DEF. dont want lines one the rear only. I have the *** front and sides with the factory rear and i cant wait to get the *** rear now. so yrag you dont want the ribbs on one part of the car.

I was kinda wondering about that...but then again, anything is better than stock front/rear SE ribs with out door ribs.

I just thought, the whole car would look smoothed out, and have a sweet aggressive front on it, with out much in the way of gheyness on the sides. I think AEDs sides looks fruity, and they don't flow w/the car IMO.

The reason I'm not completely down with 100% RK is the front overhang looks soooooo much longer than stock, and the big nostrils are kinda....I can't find a word to describe it...? ...I also think spoilers are ghey and pointless. They break up the smoothness of the body curves. (a few exceptions = Teh Razzi)

I think the setup in my first post would = Teh absolute hotness.

*** makes the best front so far. All the rears are ugly, with *** being the least ugly. Sides can be anything, probably RKsport. Stay away from SC/T, it is impossible to notice unless you are a hardcore grand am enthusiast and you are at least 6 feet from the car.

I have yet to be impressed with the sc/t kit....The only difference I see is the hood, and that's pretty nice, aside from that, yeah, I agree, you have to be a HARDCORE grand am nut to notice it.

That's why I like the RKsport kit. I don't think it's TOO much. It's far less "busy" than other kits, while still looking noticably different than stock. Which is why I bought that kit myself. If you do decide to get the RK side skirts and door panels, a word of warning, of all the pieces in the kit the sides needed the most work. My body guy told me they had far more mold lines in them than the front and rear, and he had to spend a couple extra hours smoothing them. I got a very early production run (the second kit they made) so I don't know if they've solved this yet or not. They didn't stick quite as well as I wanted them to either. They lined up nicely, but I had to put a couple screws into certain corners from the inside to be sure they stayed in place.

just note.. the RK sides are expensive. they sell the door moldings and the side moldings seperate.,

and each for 200 bucks.. so basically 400 per side.

$800 for both sides...?

Holy Jesus! I was thinking maybe $450-550.....boy was I wrong!

$800 - RK sides/rockers
$900 - *** front/rear
$275 - Paint/body work
= Teh expensive.... me thinks I'll take another look at some other options.

It's much cheaper for either one if you buy the complete kit. They don't seem to like selling seperate pieces that much. The RK kit is still cheaper than the ***, but I got mine on the pre-sale deal ;). I'm sooo glad I did because the money I saved covered painting costs.

Buy the entire RK kit and I'll swap you front bumpers...I really like the RK front.

Any interest in the swap?
