power surges in engine :-\

ok, lately my car has been acting really weird... when i put the pedal to the floor it accelerates very weird, it pulls hard then lets gets a little weak and pulls hard again and so forth. you can really tell when the car isnt warmed up, but even after driving for 15 min it will do it.. does anyone else have this problem? it's really concerning me :-\

I wonder if it is a problem with the engine computer module.

Sounds like a dirty fuel injector to me. I might be wrong. I would get a full tank of gasoline, then buy STP fuel injector cleaner, or any other quality brand cleaner, and add it to the tank. Follow the instructions on the bottle exactly and don't deviate from them.

Give the car a day of regular driving and see if that helps.

If it doesn't, I would go to an AutoZone or any other place that would do a free diagnostic. If that doesn't nail the problem down, I would go to the dealer.

But, everytime I have seen these cars having stalling, surges, and hard starting, it has been an injector. This is of course that the spark plugs and wires are ok, no water is in the gasoline, or any other weird stuff that rarely happens is going on.

Actually, I just noticed my car starting to do those surges. I'll have to check out the fuel injector cleaner. I'm just about 55,000 now.
