View Full Version : ANOTHER brake question..

My rotors warped at 15k miles.....and now at 20k...my front brakes are squealing....which tells me its time for brakes...but it seems a lil early. Would the warped rotors before have any effect on the pads....to cause them to wear so fast?

The pads will wear uneven, which can cause them to burn up pretty quick in some cases, so yes.

so even at 20k...i should be covered under warranty? because they machined the rotors under warranty at 16k....

i would replace them as soon as the dealership stops paying for them. get a set of powerslots. no warping for me.

I think brake warranty is only up to 18k miles. If you have got your rotors machince once already, I would get new ones. New pads with new rotors.

damn ... im at 14k and i havent had any brake work done. i hear squeaking once in a while but not consistently.

It really depends on how you drive. I am still using stock rotors at 48k miles. I got front ones machined once.

I must be super lucky or something because my rotors have never been machined/turned and they are the same ones that came with the car and i'm at 37k with no warp, except for some occasionally but about 4 hard-brake(all the way to the floor and within a short period of time) stops have fixed mine. My dealer says I may need new pads soon, but I take a look and they seem to have a good amount left on them though.
