I just got some smoked headlight covers for my car. Now driving at night is a little bit harder since my silverstars don't show through the covers very well :boogie: . So I was wondering if I could just replace the bulbs in my fog lights to a higher wattage without the risk of the wires melting or anything? If so how bright should I go?

I got away with 100 Watts in my blazertecs for about a month before the Harness melted. the stock wireing is even worse

Maybe you should just take the headlight covers off to drive at night, like you're supposed to...

I have the Optilux angel eye foglights. The bulbs for the fogs are much brighter than stock in my opinion. I don't know the exact wattage on them, but I've had mine for over a year now and have had no issues.

Probably 55watts.

Theyre 55...

Anyway, take the covers off. Its Illegal to have them on at night, plus you cant see for **** so whats the point.

Dont put anything higher than 37.5 watts (stock) in the stock fogs. Go and buy a set of optilux or blazertechs if you want more juice. They come with 55 watts, and ive put 100 watters in both types with no problems.

But, just take the covers off at night... Takes you 30 seconds... Besides, you live in hudsonville, if you cant see at night you may very well hit a cow.

THe stock fog light bulbs are 880 = 27 watts. I've used 885 = 55w since I got my car 3 years ago and they're brighter and no ill side effects. 55w would be the maximum I'd go with though.

Like everyone else said, take the covers off for nighttime driving'

Or, you could just take your headlight covers off at night and be a lot safer for yourself and others... But thatd be too easy and cheap.

They are still coming off at night... but a little brighter fog lights wouldn't hurt either.

I know Angle Eyes and Blazertech 3200 are DRIVING lights. Are they bright enough so you can drive with just those on?

Depends where you live

Yes they're driving lights, but they are really too low on the car to be used effectivly as headlights. Plus they dont have the same flexability to be aimed, plus they are set too far into the bumper to have a decent spread of light on the road.
