I read the sticky on this, just a quick question I didn't see on there (I skimmed). I just bought new tires yesterday and after about 20 miles my SES light came on. The tires were the same size as the ones before (they were pretty much slicks, no tread) Could the new tires be tripping the SES light?

Get the code read

Simply put, no. Any possible malfunction of the wheel hub would give you an SVS, not an SES. Get the code scanned and post the code, then we can help you a little more.

Any links that tell what the code definitions are? I'm leaving for the weekend, 5 hour drive one way and I will barely have time to have it checked before I leave. Is there anything MAJOR that you would advise not driving if its that? I know thats a broad subject and I'm reaching, but I don't want to mess my car up and I pretty much have to drive if its driveable. Thanks!

There's no way for me to answer that question without knowing the code. As for locating the different codes, search on the forums.

run up to an autozone, it takes them 10 seconds to read the code
