2000 grand am gt 3.4
so my ride over heated..
first i replaced the thermostat...
2nd - water pump
3rd - all the hoses
4th - took to pontiac dealship
they told me blown head gasket.
ok easy enuff... tore apart engine took off both heads.. and guess what... no blown gasket, no visable cracks in head.. heads arent warped
wtf else could it be?
Block looks fine, cept one the piston closes to drivers side has some rust particles in there.. and the spark plug for that piston is corroded..
if anyone has had any problems like this please let me know.
Tomorrow i am taking both of my heads to a engine shop to get pressure tested, and dye tested.. to look for cracks.. but if its not that.. what else could it be causeing my damn car to over heat..
And im glad i paid the dealership $84.00 to tell me it was the head gaskets when it wasnt!!! errr this so sux.
any input would be very good..
Thanks guys/.. i hope someone has had this problem b4, and can help me out.

Did you flush and refill the system to make sure it wasn't a plugged radiator? Are your fans coming on?

I had the same issue, it was the pressure cap in the coolent reservoir. Have you changed that?
