View Full Version : Changing oil pan gasket?

I'm thinking of replacing the oil pan gasket on a '95 Grand Am with a 3100 V6. I don't know if the oil pan is unobstructed (IE I can just remove the bolts and it'll drop out) or if it's got some part of the cradle in the way. Unfortunately, I can't get under the car at the moment to look.
Anyone know I can replace this oil pan gasket without having to pull the motor or anything?

You will need to lower the passenger side of the subframe. Very easy job.

Soo.. lowering the passenger side of the subframe just involves putting the front end of the car on jackstands andd then removing a few bolts? I won't really have a chance to get under the car until I commit to doing the job, so any details you can add would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
