View Full Version : Water on front passenger floorboard

Noticed on Saturday morning that there were a few wet spots on the front passenger floorboard of my 01 GAGT. It had rained the previous night but most of it was a light drizzle. Does anyone else have this problem? Any ideas how to "fix" this? I had the exact same problem with my 93 Corsica but could never figure out where the water was coming from. Is this a "GM" issue on most of their cars? Is it worth having the dealer looking at it although it's under warranty?

I had the exact same problem except the water was on the rear floor...but mine was a water seal on the interior of the drivers side door that was loose, which was causing the water to leak into the car...it cost me like 60 bucks to have it fixed but it was worth it...no more water inside my baby

Thanks for the TSB info. Since I'm under warranty I made an appointment with the dealer. Hopefully no more agua on the floor when they're all done.

i had the same problem and i was covered, but for some reason my whole passenger door was misaligned lol. i brought my car in last thursday and they told me that they would call me when it was done. friday passed, saturday and sunday passed (i figured that) and monday passed. I figured it was water sealing just stuff so i called up all ****ed off (thinking that it certainly couldn't take them 2 work days to replace door seals)and he told me that it just got done like an hour ago. Then he asked if I "abuse my door alot", "like kicking it, slaming it or against it". I said no and why, then he said that the door was a quarter of an inch off and that the seals werent sealing anything at all lol. I hope thats not your problem cuz i swore that rear passenger floor, where the leak was, was gonna corrode(sp?) right from under the carpet from all the water. well good luck man!

well they had to remove the A-pillar from both driver and passenger side to reseal it. all the other seals for the car looked fine. it has rained a lot since then and every inside is dry.

This has been happening some on my 2000 GT.
What is Corporate Bulletin Number 01-08-57-003???
And how do I fix this??
"Cause
This condition may be caused by water entering the fresh air inlet to the HVAC case due to poor sealing of the air inlet screen to the fresh air inlet opening."

i had this same problem. what might be causing it is "if" you have a sun roof, the drains for the sunroof might be plugged and the water is leaking out into the floor boards. the tubes go down the "A" pillars.
about a week ago it rained like hell all night, i got in the car and there was literally a puddle on the floor on the driver side...good to know.

i bet if you were to pull the carpet up, there will be no water at all on the base of the car. check next time the only thing i could tell ya to do is push some air with a compressor through the drain holes. open up the sunroof and theres one on each corner.

I also got a problem with my sunroof. It seems that one of the drain holes is plugged. It is the one on the passenger side and it is visible only when the sunroof is fully open. Right now, this problem could be worse because some of that water is running inside the headliner to the inside of the 'a' pillar to the fuse box and then to the floor. I'AM PISSED!!! The fuse box is exposed to water from this leak from the stupid drain hole that is plugged. Anyone out there with a remedy?

exact same as carlos,
as far as i can see, water is dripping down the passenger side A-pillar and right down the fusebox to the floor, right next to the BCM or PCM or whatever its called.
cant be good.

haha
problem solved carlos.
after confirming the passenger side tube is clogged, no water flowing down it when poured in,
just spray compressed air down the clogged line! there was something good in there because it came flying out with a good solid POP!
i love a good easy fix
