so ive narrowed my problem down to probably a bent valve. Since i know NOTHING about motor work what can i do to the head to get more hp out of it while i have it apart for the rebuild? also what kind of valves should i put in? and if there are any other parts that are associated w/ the head what would be the best replacement parts?
ps.. i have the 2.4

I assume you have the 2.4L? I suggest swapping the cams for the "secret" cam swap. Dirt cheap and big results.

yeah ive been reading up on that... i didnt know if that was part of rebuilding the head or not... **** it's hella cheaper than rsm's 900 price tag too...

Usual head treatments and upgrades are larger valves and porting & polishing the flow chambers. This will give you more flow so your 62mm throttle body and headers are better utilized. A good shop will have a flow bench so you can see the before and after numbers.
