Can someone give me a clear awnser as to the stock exhaust diemeter for a GT and SE, both with v6es of course? 2 inch or 2.25 inch? Thanks
I believe it's 2.25 (don't quote me on this). Everyone will argue about the size regardless.

you are right, it's 2.25.
When the magnaflows got installed....the 2.25 was the exact size of what was on there.

Here are two more questions regarding the diameter of the exhaust. I know both questions were discussed frequently in the old forum, but we might as well post it up again just so we have it "documented".
What diameter do the Borla & SLP cat-backs come with?
Also, would there be any performance gain going from the stock 2.25" to say 2.5" or possibly 2.75"/3.00"?

SLP might be 2.5, again, don't quote me. And there is no gain by going to 2.5 unless you're running a worked engine. Turbos or supers might need a slightly larger exhaust, like 2.5 or 2.75 for an extreme case but then again we're not a V8. 3" is way too big. Remember, the limits on any exhaust system is the tightest restriction in it, so if you're gonna get a huge exhaust you're gonna need a high flow cat too.

...and you are going to kill your low end with a 2.5"+ exhaust. Our engines just aren't quite big enough. :)
