So I have picked up most the 4 dr kit from RK sport... upon dismanling the car It is evident that the impact bumper must go for this kit.....My Question is...

It this safe?
without the foam its like were back to the 1920s with steel on steel during an impact.

next logical question is...

How can I replace this foam?

There is expanding insulation foam but I don't think it would be that rigid.

Any suggestions?

The front i dont think that foam is for anything more than support i mean look at it its not much and it is just foam. I dont see it not being safe.

Man i hope that isnt what keeps me safe a piece of foam LOL

The back it wont make that much of a differ either itll take some of the impact but not much.

It's on RK Sport's website. Dunno if that means anything, but if tbone has the kit, it must be ready.

Note to self: Get back to saving up for this kit...

edit: Still haven't found any good pictures of the 4-door kit... the pic on RK's site is only of the doors... http://www.rksport.com/product/p_08014000/view_detail

Well i was part of the pre order... and all i have right now is the front and rear bumper.

the skirts were supposed to be in the day I picked it up (but were not before i got there) and the door panels that wednesday. And since I was passing through on my vacation and Im a cheap bastard I could save like 2/3s on shipping taking the bumper covers so I did.

so really I only have the bumpers cause they are the same as the 2dr kit. but I'm expecting the rest shortly cause it was supposed to ship the end of last week... but wee'l see.

And the reason i feel the foamless bumper is bad was because when I was rear ended in 2002 the foam absorbed All the impact, no damage to the trunk pan, impact bar or supports, just the foam and bumper skin. so i'm that foam was gone the skin would have folderd and who knows how much would have beed trashed.

but thanks for your input. once the kit is painted and on I'll post like a kid at christmas (it might even be christmas when I'm done.) not that I'll ever be done... I'm rambling again arn't I. Cya
