The limited production vehicle is a 2003 Monte Carlo SS Jeff Gordon Signature Edition, based on a well-equipped Monte Carlo SS with the High Sport appearance package. Its striking exterior scheme includes a new-for-'03 Superior Blue color, highlighted by Galaxy Silver grounds effects, diamond-cut cast aluminum wheels and dual stainless steel exhaust tips.

Adding to the exterior character are Galaxy Silver flame decals on the hood, front fenders and doors. Jeff Gordon's trademark signature will be displayed on the sail panel and decklid. His well-known NASCAR number '24' will be prominently featured on the front license plate close-out panel, the sail panels, and embroidered on the headrests.

The Monte Carlo SS Jeff Gordon Signature Edition will also include 'Hendrick Motorsports' graphics on the rocker panels and door sills. A Galaxy Silver 'Monte Carlo' windshield header and 'Team Monte Carlo' decal will be shipped with the vehicle, allowing die-hard fans to further customize their vehicle if desired.

Dale Jr. Would have been fine. I'm with you though Nikki, I'm not a Jeff Gordon fan either. Any man that refers to himself as the "Rainbow Warrior" needs to be kicked in the junk!

I've seen some SS's that are good looking, but it's all bark and no bite. My Grand Am can beat the SS in 0-60 mph! That's sad.

Like Gordon or not, he's won 4 titles in 9 years. Little E and Harvick will probably never win a title because they are not complete drivers. Ever seen him on a road course? Like a fish out of water.

Anyway - it looks like Tony Stewart will win the championship this year.

My Chrysler person theory is being substantiated.

The L36 should be the BASE engine for the Monte, the 3.4 shouldn come anywhere NEAR that car. They could at LEAST stick the L67 in there for the "SS" . I bet the thing costs 30+ Grand too and some idiot will buy it. Man... sure makes us enthusiasts that still like American cars look bad.

Kinda like bringing back the 442 again in the Metro platform. Oh, wait... they killed Oldsmobile anyway.

*spoken in a redneck voice*

Yeeeeeep she's mighty paarfull with that there V6. I even got a racin number on it, just like Naaaascar. Whoooo dawgie!

The previous Dale Earnhardt special edition Monte Carlo SS topped out at around $29K MSRP. That's way too much money for that level of performance. The 3.8L engine should at least be SC for that price. I can get a GTP for that price.

Why? Was it a cry-baby whining points race? Or a ram and win points race? :)

I miss it Earnhardt edition SS. (Black and silver) I really liked that one.. The Intimidator.

Of course I could drive a mirror silver SS with Coors Light all over it... hehehe

Hey now ;) Tony does deserve this...so he may get a little too angry with people lol but 21 top 10s and 13 of those being top 5s aren't too bad.

Tony's magic number is 9. If he has an average finish of 9th place in the last 3 races, he wins regardless of how others finish.

hehe, ya. I remember when he came up here in June for CASCAR/NASCAR shootout.. Well, cause Ken Schrader spun him on green, hehe, on caution he came and rammed him, spun him, then left for the garage for the rest of the race.. Then after the race he complained about Canadians, and our CASCAR cars (not that they are WC material, but its what we got) I dunno, made for a great show, but he has quite the attitude. I'll admit, he has won or topped 5ed a lot of races, good driver.

What a joke! I could blow that car into the weeds. Chevrolet should be ashamed to call that slow Monte Carlo an "SS".lol
