Parts Required:
S-Type HyperGround System
Tools Required:
13mm Deep Socket
5/16" Socket
10mm Socket
3" Extension
3/8" Ratchet
15mm Combination Wrench
Introduction:
The HyperGround System is sold by SUN Auto (http://www.sunautomobile.com/). The kit for the N-Body Platform is the S-Type Kit. It is available in Gold, Silver, Blue, Red, Yellow and Smoke. The theory behind the kit is that noisy engine components like ignition, alternator, etc. float the ground signal as much as a few volts. EFI cars rely on electronic sensors to transmit data back to the PCM which then supplies the appropriate amount of fuel for the readings. If the ground is not at 0V, those readings become inaccurate and in some cases can hurt performance. By using this low-resistance wiring kit to electrically bond the battery, chassis and engine, the ground system can now bleed off these stray voltages so ground is at 0V. Dyno tests by SUN Auto have shown gains from 3-5HP. Other sources have also dyno tested this modification and found similar results.
Installation:
Remove both postive and negative battery terminals.
Remove battery from vehicle.
Remove 10mm bolt behind front headlight where battery ground attaches to chassis.
Re-attach with large end of 400mm wire and washer.
Attach small end of 400mm wire to supplied battery terminal post.
Attache small end of 600mm wire to battery terminal as well.
Remove 13mm nut from transmission cable bracket.
Place small end of 500mm, large end of 600mm and washer to transmission cable bracket stud and re-install nut.
Remove 15mm bolt from front engine hoist bracket on head.
Re-install with large ends of 500mm and 900mm wires.
Remove 13mm stud from rear of UIM by alternator.
Attach small end of 900mm and large end of 750mm cable and re-install UIM stud.
Attach small end of 750mm wire to passenger side fenderwell using a body mount bolt.
Re-install battery.
Re-connect all battery connections and start car to make sure everything works.
