wtf does it do w/ emmisions?

will my car blow up if i take off my cat? all in all, its ok, cause the flux capacitor doesnt burn.

wtf does it do w/ emmisions?

will my car blow up if i take off my cat? all in all, its ok, cause the flux capacitor doesnt burn.It is called an A.I.R.(Air Injection Reaction) pump assembly. The pump injects air into the catalytic converter, to aid in cleaning up exhaust emissions.

My mechanic said it holds the Horn Fluid. If you remove it, the horn won't work. He also said I need to replace my muffler bearings. I better go do that now. lol

Can that whole assembly be removed without affecting the functionality of the car?

Its like a smog pump on the older fords. Except that its not so clunks, and spralled out.
I have it on mine ~ but I think my ga came from an old ladie in NJ

My hose came off the rear section once, mag's 2nd pic, and I did notice loss in power and performance. and that was just the little hose. Not alot, but enough to notice

Siz ~ you sure u'r car was made for calif? :-p

2000 only iirc..

Yea... we determined that at one of the meets awhile back. All the 2000 year 3400's had em. 99 and 2001+ didn't.

Apparently the Canadian 2000 doesn't. :iconfused

yeah, I dealt w/ that crap -

you can remove the smog box directly in front of the coolant resevoir w/ no SES/SVS codes...

Wheres the pic of this thing.....I have an 00 GAGT and it was originally from NY (according to Carfax).

i am not sure how they are set up but if there isany resemblance to the old ford pumps, IT DOES ROB HP it is easy to remove and wont effect driveability at all
as for pumping cold air inti to intake i no a guy that did that on a fox stang took a bit of work and some trial and error to get the intake to seal up tight with no leaks we fabbed a bigger pulley to make it spin faster to jam in mor air..it DID make a differance but i really do not think ti was worth the effort
