:violin Here goes my sad story :violin

My Grand Am with the 2.4L engine is acting up. It'll work fine some days then on other days it will try and cut out when I come to a complete stop. Some times, when the engine trys to cut out, the RPMs will jump to around 1000 -1700 and the car is trying to go when it does this. I always think I am about to hit someone when it does this cause I have no control over what is going on. Do any of you guys have suggestions on what I should check on?

I was thinking IAC and or TPS but I don't have the Tech Sheets to check them out. Does anyone else have access to them?

Is the 2.4 a distributer based ignition?
Have you checked the fuel pressure - around 8-12 bls
plugs changed, wires?
Have you washed the engine bay, get water into nething?
Creating a short?
Alot of things that could be wrong with this
A little more info would be cool

The 2.4 uses coil packs - I think that is what they are called.

Plugs and "Wires" have been changed within maybe less then a year.

No water should be in the engine bay. No shorts.

I'm going to try and use SeaFoam on my engine and see if that clears up the problem.
