Just visited Colin (v6h.o.) He is replacing the Valve body spacer Plate, pressure control Solinoid and Pressure Regulator. This seams to be the fix for my Laggy first to second shift. There are plenty of pics so I will post them up shortly

Its a date!

btw... whats the significance of having bleed holes? For some reason, it seems like it'd be better to have bleed holes... but then again... I'm not too bright.

Sorry to revive an old thread. But I need an update on this.

Blackrider could you give an update on this. I have the same 1-2 shift problem, but have not found any GM part numbers for the updated valve body spacer plate, pressure control solenoid and pressure regulator.

I'm reposting this because I really do need these part numbers. If anyone has them please let me know.

I don't know part #'s, but i got my trans parts at a shop near my house. (spaced out and can't rmember what it's called) but i got the updated spacer from them. I got a book on the entire trans at home, i'll see if it gives me a part number.

when i did my rebuild, there was another update that i found. There's three white plastic disks (pistons) in the valve body. I found out that those disks, being plastic, don't withstand the heat and pressure, and tend to crack. even hairline cracks. there is now billet aluminum replacements, i think they're called Sonax updates.

what kind of shift problems are you having?

Slipping on the 1-2 shift. It shifts fine when its cold but not when hot. Also it shifts fine for the other gears. But overall the shift pressure has degraded some. If I up the shift pressure in the PCM it will shift fine for a little while then slip again.
