I know I had read about this happening to other people before the board went down.... hadn't read about it since. Like a week ago was the second time it happened. First time at about 33k miles, second at 42k miles. I've had the car since 18k.

Here's what happens.... I come up to a stoplight that is red. About 1 second after I stop it turns green and I hit the accelerator, not hard, just normal driving. Immediately, the speedo goes all the way up (140 mph on alero), and the car kinda shakes like it would when someone driving stick is just learning and not quite good at it yet. So I let off the accelerator, about 2-4 seconds later the speedo comes back down to normal, I hit accelerator and everything seems perfectly fine.

It freaks the <expletive> out of me more than anything else. I think some people suggested it was a computer hiccup. Anybody got any other ideas?!?!?

I got this too on a 3 day old GAGT 2003! I was ****ed, I took it in and of course I could not get it to repeat itself, I even had the service manager drivng around with me to try and get it to do it. They said there was no problem saved in the computer and that nothing was wrong with the tranny. So I left and it has only happened once since. ?????????????

yeah, my car has actually been running great (no problems)... its just so damn weird when it happens, and of course it always happens when someone else is in the car. There aren't too many ways to explain that one to them so I just shrug my shoulders, say "don't all cars do that", and take off.

It's happened to me about 3 or 4 times since I've owned the car (13 miles, 30,xxx now) It's just the computer having a hiccup.... Basically the car didn't downshift or somethign like that... That or the computer resetting. Unless it does it constantly I wouldn't worry about it.
