I bought and installed the supercharger(with my dads help) and had a recent problem with misfiring. My dad works at gm and we hooked up the tech 2 and #2 was misfiring all the time and #1 was misfiring rarely. It turned out that the spark plug was missing some metal on it(burnt off) and we replaced it. I was wondering if engine temperature caused this or it was just a defective spark plug I drove across Canada from B.C to Ont. I don't know when it happened but I knew something was wrong. Can you please help!!!. Also, can you hook a laptop to your car and use the same tech 2 program to diagnose problems. I hate not knowing when something is wrong.

You probably had a bad plug before the install. No one I know of had spark plug problems after the install. Using a spark plug that is one heat range colder can help avoid detonation though. I'm using Denso iridium plugs in my car. Model IT20 stock#5326. NGK makes some too but I don't know the number. I got mine from monarch products (909) 672-8501. They were $11.99 each ($86.69 total w/shipping) which isn't cheap, but they work great and it's worth the extra protection IMO.
PFYC.com sells the autotap diagnostic scanner. It lets you monitor your car through the pcm and clear trouble codes all on your laptop. It doesn't let you program or do some other things the Tech2 does though (but it's lots cheaper than a Tech2).
Hope that helps you out a bit, and enjoy your new SC.:)

I had this problem too. I got a solid misfire in two cylinders. They both shutdown as a matter of fact. The culprit was a melted thru spark plug wire and an internally fizzled one was well...
I am running the NGK Iridiums FYI. So the issue was that myself and spaz had not left enough clearance for the plugs on the rear banks. The wire melted there and then when that was out the otehr one burnt thru across from it... The SC causes the engine bay to get hotter than stock, and the SC shaft also may cause problems down the road on your wires if they are close/touching. It seems that you are in the clear now and I wouldn't worry unless the car sounds off. I got the NGK Plugs at www.partsforyourcar.com and the MSD Wires at www.americanperformanceofcolorado.com
