Just wondering, it seems like one of my factory wheels has lost its clear coat. The wheel is very dull and it seems like it is getting harder to get road grime off. Anyone have any advice for reapplying clear coat to the wheels? Can it be done yourself or should someone a little more professional do it....? Thanks!

The clear coat might not be gone, try using wax on your wheel to bring back the shine.

I have waxed them. The wax works until I wash the car a time or two, then dull again.... I'm afraid the clear coat is gone after using a little wheel cleaner once to help remove some tar from the wheel. It was diluted but still pretty strong I guess.

I would guess that the heat from the brakes would make the wax deteriorate quickly also.

You can always go to your local auto store and buy a can or two of clear coat and reapply it.
