Okay, so Installed the 180 t-stat(btw will never do again! :scream: ) And my Temp is still around 210 - 225. I was wondering if
a) bad t-stat
b) could the problem be my radiator
the reason for B) is because some idoit at a shop tried to jack up my car and bent my radiator. So what do you guys think?

the car will still run at that temp until you install a cooling fan switch. it should stay around 180 when cruising but as soon as your stuck in any kind of slow driving it will jump up to that temp.

I do have a fan switch. If the switch is manually operated what does it matter?

You need your PCM reprogrammed to the 180 stat..Tthe computer still thinks you have a 195 degree stat in it.

What's the weather like there? When's the last time you flushed the coolant?

I have a 180 degree t-stat. On a real hot day (last few weeks, ~90 degrees) the temperature will easily go to 200 driving around, and then 220ish if I sit for even a minute. Now that it's cooled off, I'm 180 all the time.. Coolant is brand new btw.

hmm.. I have the 180d thermo, casper fan switch, and dhp pcm and it still gets up to 220d also. It could prob use a good coolant flush though.

^When's the last time you flushed the coolant? I flushed the coolant last year, long before I had a 180 degree t-stat, and the coolant temps barely touched 200 during non-hot-as-hell weather :)

T-stat opens on temp, not via the PCM.

I have one installed and the temp still gets to 220 at idle in the summer weather. It's really a waist of money and I think its waisting gas too.

its a waste unless your at the race track and the car is only running for 15 min tops

I changed the T-stat to the 180 and flushed my coolant too and now my car is reading higher than before. I put one gallon of Dex and the rest water. When I drive my car hard the temp goes up. overall its going crazier. dont know what to do. I have checked everything to make sure it wasnt somehing that I missed or that it had a leak. Maybe I think its the Dex/water mix? I dont know whats going on. OOHHHH! by the way its the easiest thing to change. the car just has to be cool thats all. ;)
