My car *used* to hesitate when I'd put it in gear...just once and awhile...now there are times where it makes a low grinding (odd) noise from under the car as it's hesitating...the tranny I suspect? Even though all this is going on I have not seen the SES light! Does this mean the dealers computer won't pick up a problem?
thanks

If it's not throwing a code it may not show up at the dealer. I would go to the dealer and ask if they would run a free Tech II inspection on the car to find out just what's going on. It literally would take them less than 5 mins. If the car does or ever has thrown a code, they can clear them at that time as well.
Being that you're there in the Toronto area, you may contact Frank TO2FAST here on the boards. RSM racing is there near toronto, and he may be able to look at it for you and tell you what he thinks it is too.
Good luck!!
Also, if you car is not throwing any codes, but you can reproduce the problem, then do that. Ask the dealer if you can take one of the tranny techs on a ride along and have them hook up their Tech II while you drive them around.
My car was not throwing codes when it was hesitating, but I knew how to reproduce it (my case was rolling uphill at about 15 mph, give about 3/4 throttle and it would shudder) and did it for the tech. He saw some things on the Tech II that wasn't throwing codes, but not right.
In the end I had work done on the car that probably saved my tranny in the long run.
