HOWTO: Cover door lock indicators w/ vinyl

Real simple one here... Remove the little red piece from the handle, cut vinyl to match, voila.

I need an exacto knife to redo mine, but I had it extra long and wide and i wrapped it around the sides. just another idea for the lazier man like myself

thanks alot seth! i really like yours too! in a few weeks i'm doing a custom switch panel in the center console. attached is a (very very rough) estimate of what it will look like. i'm cutting the aux tape player thing out of a 99 center console then cutting the cigarette lighter out and extending the tape player thing all the way accros, finishing w/ bondo then repainting. i will have 6 chrome switches w/ red led on the end. it should be sweet!

Mine will be similar... but I glassed up the cd tray on a dash kit, and the switches + status led's will be right below the radio...

good idea! see, i still have the stock hu so i couldn't do that. the only thing about the way i'm going is, i'm going to have to relocate the cigarette lighter. any ideas of where i could mount it? and i use it for my phone plug in when the battery is low so it has to be close to the driver's seat.

On the right side of the console... kinda facing where the passenger's legs would be.

yeah, that would probably work. i was also thinking about in the back where the rear cup holders are, like when you flip them down then there's that whole "wall" kind of that's the back of the center console, i was thinking there, then it woudl be kinda hidden too..

Those switches with the LEDS in the end rule. I'm using one for my neons right now.

yeah me too! soon i'll have 6 of them! 4 of em won't even be powering anything YET, but someday they will. I'm still going to give them all power so i can have the led light up at night!:D

and i think it would look just as nice painted as opposed to vinyl, plus much easier
