Woo hooo!!!
Welcome to the Magnaflow Club...just give the mufflers some time to break in (I think it takes about 2 months to really break in).
Looking really good. I like the shorter tips 4" length ones on the car.
Awesome!
I must say the mufflers sound good, I love mine wish i would have gotten the duals though but couldnt afford them at the time.... and like Starfire said welcome to the club!

looks good. I love the way the Magnaflows look. The only thing that is making me lean twards SLP is because of weight. Sounds good though ;)

what did it cost you? install/parts?
Krazy

$525 for the mufflers/parts/install -- i got the mufflers from the exhaust shop, so its a little more expensive than buying them from that website.

well, i am glad you finally went with the magnaflow set-up. although, i thought you were getting the single set-up, this really surprised me. what an awesome sound! do you like the performance gains? i really like the shorter tip style too. looks great! i think you are the first 2.4L dual magnaflow on this board. unless i am missing someone  .
magnaflow ROCKS!

I think i might even be the first SE on the boards with them! :boogie: I can definitely feel a difference in top end pull. I imagine that I lost some low end, but to be honest, I cant really feel a loss. The sound is just getting more mellow as I put miles on it. -- Is dual mufflers necessary on a 4banger? Of course not... but it looks and sounds good.

and i agree. i wanted to go with duals, but i was afraid that even one muffler would sound ricey on the 2.4L. i guess i was wrong about both. i dont think it is possible for our cars to become ricey at all  .

Ok im set, im definetly getting these bad mofos. I also have an SE its a 2000 arctic white one. So its basically 273.84 to order two of those from that site and about how much was it for the install? Just so I know a descent price. Thanks and nice sounding exhaust.

just expect $500 or more after install and all.
Krazy

Pipes and install for me was $125... Because you are ordering the mufflers from the website, you might expect to pay more for install.

one Magnaflow muffler (14816), a 2.25in mandrel bent cat-back system, and labor all for $391 including taxes :) .

Did you run new pipe? 500 sounds a lot for two mufflers but they look sweet and sound real nice, if you did run new pipe was it from the headers back or the cat-back, did you keep you cat cut it out or put in a highflow? Also were'd you get that cold air intake it looks nice. Thanks for putting up that Video because I have been seriously debating putting exhaust on my 1999 SE 2.4L I thought it would sound really bad, but it's a nice mello sound that would scare the crap out of a ricer.

on our cars? an exhaust sound bad? i think you have got us confused with honda civics here lol
i ran the piping from my cat all the way to the muffler. thanks for the compliments. the cold air intake is from Spectre (aka 95 civic intake). you can pick one up from your local Autozone ($50) or you can order a CAI online fom RKSport ($140). your choice ;) . good performance gains, that is what an intake should be, cold air.

Also, I though it was just something specific to my GaSe, but is it just me or is it really nosey when starting, you turn the key and it's all like "click click click VROOM" maybe the fact his car was inside amplified the starting noise would like MDS help with that, it's not a major deal but it's louder starting noise than Im use to or would like to hear. Either way thoese Magnaflows sound tight and im waiting for the moment my muffler shop opens so I can get them installed.

You should be carefull with those dual exhasut on a small engine like that! there is a science when it comes to exhaust. You NEED to have a certain amount of back pressure in your exhaust for your engine to run right!! For example therres a reason why import after market exhaust systems are designed after a single out put coffecan design muffler. And an SS Chevy Camero has dual exhaust system. As cool as it looks... and even may sound... your trashing your engine and will slowly notice the effects! But I do have to say... Looks sweet man!

Loss of back pressure actually hurts the engine? I knew I would lose some low end power because of less back pressure. Im not too concerned about any loss of low-end performance, because quite frankly -- my car isn't very fast . But I didnt know it could hurt the engine!

Those shorter tips look really good on the SE. Good choice.

Give your magnaflows a month or so (more like 2 or 3) and you will love them more! You will notice in about 1 - 2 weeks the car's loss of low end RPMs will start to come back...not fully, but it will get back. When I first got mine, I had to gun it every time just to make it move...now after about four months, I just tap the gas and it goes now...and I still don't have my CAI/CAC-MAF (Cold Air Calibrated). Just give it some time and you will really enjoy it. Does sound good, I imagine that it sounds a lot better in person than in a vid...that's what everyone tells me!
The effects on the engine are very small. If you were trying to run 2.5"+ (even more like 3"+) pipes all the way back and completely killing your backpressure...that's different.
I think you should be fine with them. If you didn't get mendrel bent pipes either and used 2.25" then you are almost exactly the same as what you were at. That's the way I look at it...all I did basically was take that terrible half crushed piece of pipe out that goes over the axle...then to the same thing I had before. So my back pressure is very close to what it was (since I didn't change to 2.5").
Remember that air flow (velocity) will only go as fast as the maximum amount of space at any given point in the exhaust on the quickest route to the exit. There's a formula for calculating it.
All in all, even with the 2.4L I still think you should be pretty safe with your engine.

tell me about it. i believe mostly that the SES light i have on in my car now is due to the exhaust. about a couple months after my exhaust was put in i got a SES light. i took it to the dealership and they said it was because of the pressure in the engine. it was offset. i couldnt tell you if it is damaging, if it is, i dont know of any difference really from the day i got the exhaust till now. im getting someing pretty big soon(5 weeks) that WILL require an upgraded exhaust system to 2.75-3.0in. im keeping it on the DL for now though.

Krazy you got any pictures of how they routed your pipes? It sound sweet but waht does it sound like at 6 grand? Is there a way to make it any louder? dont know if i would. what size piping you have?

Not to ruin the magnaflow get together, but I have 2 maxspeed mufflers with DTM tips and everything including install was $450, just for a price range.
