Looks like this is a fairly common problem...
I have that grinding noise coming from the right front - it's worse when I turn just a little. I was quoted $199 by the place that decided that's what's doing it. GMpartsdirect has it for $195 - any other places to look? And is this something I can do myself? Or should I just let a professional handle it?

My front hub assembly was from BSA Bearing, or something like that, and was about $180. I don't remember what the labor cost was... but changing a hub involves disconnecting all sorts of links in the front end, not sure if thats something you'd want to do or not. Don't cheap out on a cheapy replacement hub assembly either... I did, and was back at the shop the next week cause there was an issue with bearings in it, even though it was brand new. BSA's been rolling smooth... so far!

That's what I was looking for... thanks! (In my defense, I did search for it - guess I should have searched 'all forums' eh? )
