I was woundering if anyone has any ideas on how to go about replacing a serp belt on a 1994 Grand Am GT V6 3.1L engine. I seen that there are other posts on this topic but not for a 94. I can see that I have to take the motor mount off that is bolted to the frame, but it looks like you have to take the other half that is bolted to the engine off too, to get the belt out? Does anyone know the proper steps to take to remove the belt?

I tried to do it myself with no luck since I didn't have all the tools I needed. You can get closer access to the belt tensioner in the passenger side wheel-well. I think you also need to drop the engine a bit as well just to get access to the tensioner.

yes and yes on the upper moter mount and tensioner. You might need to jack the engine a little also. I did the water pump at the same time, so i had to jack the engine. You wont need to unbolt any more, just gives you some room. Its not the easiest thing in the world, but doable.
