I've gone through 4 sets of brakes and rotors on my grand am and all of the GM sets basically sucked, since my car only has 57k and is highway driven. I want to get good replacement rotors (cross drilled or slotted) and long lasting pads. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Check ebay. I just got a set of 4 cross drilled rotors for 80 bucks off there. Good brand also.

i wouldn't bother with new factory brakes, mine are so shot....and thats after i replaced them with new cross drilled rotors and good pads..its the stupid gm caliper that flexes like there is no tommorow, so no matter how fancy of pads u get or the rotors, he caliper still gonna screw them all up over time

Another question. How difficult would it be to do the install myself? I've never done a brake install on an anti-lock braked car, and I wanted to know if there's anything special about doing this kind of install. A brand name would be more helpful in making my decision on rotors and pads too. Thanks.

Not difficult at all to change the pads/rotors.... I got Reybestos Plus rotors.. On about 10K so far and lots of life left in um.. No signs of warping..

I replaced mine about 3500 miles ago with Akebono ProAct ceramic pads, and Napa's lifetime warranty rotors. So far they seem really solid. I just hope they stay that way......
