View Full Version : Heating Problem

What is the normal amount of time to warm up inside car (year 2000). Fan is set on high and it seems to take forever to warm up inside. There is heat but it takes so long +/- 15 minutes. There are no fluid leaks, car temp is fine. Would replacing the thermostat help? Any suggestions?

What I do to get my car warmed up fast is turn it on but turn the blower for the heater off. A car will warm up much faster if it isn't having to circulate water through the hvac system also. I usually wait till the temp shows at least 150 before I turn it on. If you have your fan set on high as soon as you start the car, all you are doing is blowing in cold air cause the water in the heater core is still cold. Try waiting next time and see if that helps.

I was having a problem too where I would drive 15min and the car would not come to temp. Changed the thermostate and its fine now. Might be stuck open..
