just curious where the place place to get a new motor is?????If you can afford it, from the dealer. With a new GM motor, you get a 3 year/50,000 mile warranty. :)

Jasper is a fairly large engine remanufacturer. A lot of companies in my area will only install jasper rebuilt motors.

Ebay has used motors...not so sure thats what your looking for though.

Jasper, tore one of those apart with 40k, had a composite head gasket on one side and a copper on the otherside.

blast from the past....time to bring this thread back to life!!! Whats the scoop can anyone give me current info. on this subject?

I saw 2 posts on Jasper in this thread going back to 2004, any more recent experiences y'all can share with this co. or other engine manufacturers?!?

I saw the Jasper site is is a reman. engine but it sounds like they a hell of a job..I am in preparing for a possible Pontiac protocol, and I need some expert & more recent opinions on this, thank you!

I got mine from a Gm dealership, $1800 w/100,000 warranty.... this was a couple of years ago

GM remmy engines come with a 3yr/100k warranty.

Can't beat that.
