Face unit holster!?

Ok I keep forgettin what its called.... I think a Head unit install kit.... I have the 01 grand am with the monsoon cd-tape deck and I want to buy a new head unit right away like tomorrow! I guess its a 2 din slot thing can I fit any 2 din thing in there.. Depth may be a problem but then I remember gregfarz said u can cut a plastic piece out back there to make it deeper.... Well anyways... I want to know one can I buy a 2 din cd player and two if I dont and get a one din.... Can I see everyones one din with there kits. I want it to look REALLY nice and flush and I want to know where they got there kit.... Thanks Dan.... Really need help asap I got the money and need to get a cd deck!

thanks, that one looks sweet... but anyone else have anything else? cuz I wanna see all my options just in case... The one I saw on that site was like a monte carlo kit that i guess fits our cars the part number 265-804... now anyone else with a dash kit that looks nicer than that? I like that little whole there.. I wonder what I can put in there.. maybe a phone or.... or... well I need to know what other dash kit thingies I can get! show pics please!

I bought a generic one at Circuit City and had to file it to get it to fit:p . The double-din head units will fit, sometimes very tightly. This has been the topic of a few small debates, but I have seen it done in a 2001. In an unrelated topic, the part# for the correct Metra install kit for the din-and-a-half dash opening is 99-4000. Just in case any of us small dash guys need it. :thumbs: Have fun with your new stereo.
