Yep. And you need a new resevoir cap.

I tried a screwdriver. and it won't come off. Don't tell me you have to break it.

Keep prying all the way around it with soemthing flat and it will pop off.. and yeah doesn't matter if you break it, you'll need a new cap like stated above. The old crappy ones come apart like that and get stuck

Try a knife blade and pry it at a couple/three locations.

When you get the business end of that cap out - gently with a flat head screwdriver - it will pop back into the original cap if you push the two pieces together hard enough.

When the cap assembly is back together, remember to lube the "o-rings" with coolant before you put the cap back on.

I have seen this many times on GM products.

I used the flat part of the tire iron. it may come apart there is a spring inside of it so make sure your not looking right over it cuz you may lose an eye.

when i took mine off i just snapped it back in the cap.

Buy a new cap there like $5...

yea, do not try to put the old cap back together. it will get stuck in there the very next time that you put it on (learned from experience). go to any part store and they have them out on the sales floor.

Be careful not to mess up the threads on the resivour when u pry it off. also, the bigger and wider the screwdriver the easier it will be to pry it off.

Also, when i had a broken cap i also had major coolant leaks(out the tube near the cap). once i replaced the cap the leaks ceased. possibly you have the same issue? i would check your oil immediately to see if you see any antifreeze in there first tho. better safe than sorry, doesnt take long for that stuff to kill your engine.
