You guys have to consider getting these. U need NO MORE LIGHT, i only got to drive around for about 20 mins last night with them on. BUt during that time it felt like there were 2 cars driving behind me side by side with there brights on along with my lights on. THe only disadvantage is that i have no more high beems. In all my years of driving i have never used them once. the aray that the hid's cover is all over the street. i could literly sit 50 feet infront of the ar and read a book there that bright. by far these are the ****.

Can't wait to see them in person Erik! We can see if your HIDs or my CATZ driving lights are brighter!

I got them from a place called Island motor sports by my house. there website is www.islandmotorsports.com and the price they quoted me was 550. if you decide to get them you need to get a relay kit to to harness them, that is about 50 bucks and apc makes them. ill show you soon enough though Sik. any wagers on who's is brighter?? hehe

I'm getting the Catz Zeta HID system for my alero. I just worked out a deal from someone on ebay for the whole 9006 low beam in my alero for $250 dollars. It includes the transformers/ballast thingy .. and their galaxy white bulbs to go with it. I'm so excited.

I have had HID lights on my car since may and i love showing my lights off alot. My favorite thing to do is pull up to the ricers with the fake HID bulbs and turn off my lights it get so dark after I do that. Some get ****ed and put the brights on then i turn my light back on again and poof the whole street lights up. My favorite is the reflectors on the street look cool kind of like a white shirt on a black light. I bought this kit on fleabay for $380 shipped , well I gave the merchant a email and we did this under the table so I got a discount becasue he didnt have to pay fleabay fees. Link to kit (http://shop.store.yahoo.com/racinglab/hidplussinbe4.html)

They are worth every penny especaily driving out of town at night.
I did get pulled over 2 times in the same week beacuse of these lights but I was let off easy. I think they cops were just curious or something. any way the major draw back is losing your high beams ( who cares) but this make your svs light pop up and can get annoying.
I hear rumors that the K2 HID kit is crap and to be avoided (something about catching on fire)
if anyone buys the kit and needs guideance with the install feel free to email me at Robertl@elp.rr.com mounting the Ballasts can be trickey but i found a good spot to put both

ill post pics when i get my camera back

If I had a gun and I had to sit at a light opposite someone with HIDs for more than 45 seconds, u'd hear 2 shots ring through the air and a laugh of satisfaction

Hows the install on these things? I am asking because I had a biatch of a time just replacing the stock bulbs, nevermind a whole kit!

You don't need to drill holes or any thing like that right?

BransAm

Now thats sweet as hell. I want to do that to my 95. are the kits universal?

NeonGA

does anyone know if all the kits will pop up a svs light?

Black2002GT

i ahve an svs light pop up half of the time. I know for a fact is the relay kit though. I have the apc relay kit im going to ttry to get a differnt kit though. They are a 9007 size bulb in the 99-present models. u just get the size bulb you need and yes the kits are universal.

Black2002GT
09-04-2002, 05:09 PM
you dont have drill any wholes ont he install. if you have a 96-98 i know you just unscrew a few things and the 99-present you just pulll up the two tabs on each headlihght and pull the whole light fixture out. install took me about a half hour on the hid kit

I know the reason the SVS comes on its becasue you have no high beams. Easy way to fix this is to just leave the lights on before you move from park, The car dosent check for the high beams if the lowbeam lights are on, so at night you dont have the svs becasue the lights come on atuomaticly. Hard solution is to wire the highbeams to something that can absorb the power of the DRL one solution would be to put another light somewhere, 12v motor, transformer <--- rumor to work, or to wire your driving lights to the highbeam wires. I am going to talk to a Elertrical Engineer sometime this week about this. As long as there is a connection the car wont display the SVS light, thus the reason it comes on when the high beams are burnt out.

damn!!!!! how did you find out about all of this. I will have to try it with the light thing that sounds like a good idea. it just does it with the relay kit though, i had a relay kit before the hids and it burnt out a few bulbs. do u think the HID bulbs can withstand the relay kit? what kind of relay kit do u have.

I had alot of trial and error problems when I first put in my HID kit. With that I learned alot about my light system. One of the problems was I didnt install one of the ground wires right and I had termendious eletrical problems i.e. blinkers were out of wack, the cruise control wouldnt work ect, but once I tighten the ground it the car worked flawlessly. I had a previous problem with the svs light when one of my hologen high beams poofed thats how I learned about the svs light comming on as a result of puting the HID kit on. As for the relay I only used what was given to me from the kit nothing more btw i dont think the hid will burn out your wireing for the fact it uses "less power" than halogens 12v 35w vs 12 55/65 w except for the initial start up of 20,000v but thats what your ballasts are for.

Are these like the factory Lexus HID's that take a while to warm up before they are at full brightness. Kinda like turning on flouresants. They flash a couple times, then gradually get brighter until they are at full brightness. I think that is cool.

Flybynight
09-05-2002, 11:13 AM
yes they take about 30 seconds to a min to warm up with a nuke flash at the start :D

avoid the K2 brand i hear some of the parts may melt or catch fire example of a k2 kit (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1855675888) or any brand that doesent use the phillips ballast's. I got the set made spw industries the ballast is made from phillips and the lights are made from hella. Phillips made the first hids so i guess they are a good brand. the bulb size will be 9007. you could also use a d2r bulb but it may require some trickery to put in. The r is for reflect houseing, d2s s is for the progector houseing which we dont use some nissans and many luxury cars use projector houseing. and about the 5000K,6000K 12000K that dosent mean they are brighter its just the color of the bulb 4kK to 5kK is white 6kK to 8kK is blue 9kK + is usually violet

YEA!!!! now the grand am peeps are starting to catch on :) i burnt out 4 sets of hyper bulbs at 20 bucks a pair in 6 months then i got my hid's :P there soo much more brighter. BUt yea they take about 30 seconds or so to warm up. ITs weird if you stand infront of the car you can hear them click on which is pretty cool. Does anyone know if they make the SIgnal bulbs in LED?? i have the pinch bulbs and they match perfectly but i need the other ones, the round ball like ones.
