exotic customizations

hey guys, i have to come up with some exotic stuff to do to my 99 ga se 4 door, i have a good friend that i went to school with that is awesome at bodywork, and i can get pretty much anything done i want for VERY cheap, any ideas guys??? i am getting it all done and painted at the beginning of october...

BTW i am getting my car painted midnight blue with dark purple pearl, mixed with some shiny metallic flakes, i will definately be posting alot of pics when i get it done...

I don't have any suggestions for you but I did want to comment on the paint......that sounds very very cool!!!!! I hope you definitely go forward with the paint job so I can see all the pics!!!!!!:thumbs: :D

ok, suicide your rear doors or all your doors. shave all door handles and use "popers" shave antenna, trunk keyhole, and all badges. and if you have subs, go for a fibergl*** install and make it smooth and paint it the body color. does that help?

How far do poppers pop? do you have to be ready to catch the door b4 it closes?

I'm not really sure, but I would imagine they can be set to pop the door only a certain amount. I can't imagine having to 'catch' the doors as they open.

i thought popers would release the door from the latch, and you would pull the door as you press the popper.

ok, i forgot to mention, i have already made some plans, i am shaving all door handles, shaving antenna, trunk keyhole, and molding back spoiler. i have already installed my pop doors, and to answer some questions the popers just pull the latch, just like you are pulling on the door handle, but i have installed a spring to push the door out, so when i press the disarm on my remote for my alarm, the drivers door pops open, the spring pushes it out, and keeps it out so it doesnt come slamming back closed, then you just pull it the rest of the way open...

keep the ideas comming though guys

i dont think t tops are an option due to the way our doors are, with the metal rail on the top for the window to go into

also a convertable 4dr would be kinda silly wouldnt it?

i'd say shave the fuel door too, i know someone with an alero did that, he also shaved the tail lights and made led ones someone,

I plan on making my doors scissor up lamborghini style in the future. Also getting the antenna shaved and sparco gas cap added.:D

Personally I would instal a sliding ragtop that covers most of the whole roof of the car then i would suicide the rear doors and to top it of I would reinforce the front doors and have them open gull wing style, and have the trunk and hood open on opposite sides instead of in the back ( if that makes sense) then if you have time install those lowrider buckets in the back with a blow through fiberglass box and a custom interior in the front to boot.... but that is just my .2.... well probably 1$

but if i were you id shave everything on the car...taillights....door handles....badges (which isnt really considered shaving.just removing)....trunk area......etc. maybe do a sliding rag if you can afford the rag itself.....do some fiberglass stereo installation etc. should look damn good. and dont forget to get air or hydros and lay that sucker out flat. i shaved everything on my alero and did suicide door. it looks good. be the one of the first GAs to shave everything.......hell ive never seen one done and ive been around the show scene for awhile.

my $0.02

after removing the side panels on the doors they have that Alero indentation. why not fill that so we can see what a smooth doored GA looks like. Suicide the back doors. definitely, if possible. Pu hydraulic assist on the hood and loose the prop rod OR make the hood flip like a vette. get rid of your SE 2.4 and drop 3400 or 3800 special in it. Can we say ((manual tranny)) would be exotic. How about a Targa type sunroof system.

:boogie: be creful when doin that not to warp the door. thats alota long metal across that thin door. just take it slow with the welder cause that heat will warp that sucker in a heartbeat. and also check your clearance when you doin it. put some tape at the front part of the door and the rear part of the front fender over that part your shaving. so that way its flat like when you shave it. then open the door and watch it hit. make sure you mod the thing so it will clear.

thx for the tip.. my friend did that on his neon, he got metal that was too thick and it started warping, while i started laughing, heheh

nah, what i meant was he tried welding too thick of metal to the doors and the doors warped because it was overheating the thin metal and not heating the thick metal, so it warped and also was burning holes :)
