Yes, you can drive it without the case learn, but be gentle with it. However I would suggest that you get it done as soon as possible.

A case learn is only necessary if a code sets in the PCM for camshaft correlation. If the SES light doesn't come on right after you first start the car on the new PCM, you don't have to worry about it.

BUMP, adding a question...

I know about the whole case learn stuff, yadda yadda...

How much did it cost you to have it done? The dealer wants $70...

Dealerships usually charge $60-75 per hour for pretty much any work they do. Considering a case learn takes what 5-10 min? So really it shouldn't be more than $15 in my eyes. But they don't call them stealerships for no reason! From the answers I got when asking this question I was told $35-40 would be about right. Any more than that then walk out and go somewhere else. Any GM dealership or garage with a Tech II should be able to do it, so don't limit yourself to the stealership!

Yeah try 30 seconds total to do it.
I was there awhile since Zoomer wanted to check out my ride thoroughly since he just bought an 04 to start modding.

Ive read that the PCM wont throw a code. You have to get a case learn done regardless so the PCM knows the exact position of the crank.

It is recommended that you fill up with 91-93.

I first filled up on 92 then drove home and then put in DHP.

dealer charged me $29+tax....but some wanted as much as $90 :wtf:
Just shop around and make sure they understand that it will only take at most 5min. of their time...as long as the car is warmed up
