I was working on another b/w picture using the 'clone stamp tool'. It was working fine, then all of the sudden stopped working. I would hold alt and click where I wanted to copy and then try to cover the imperfection, but it wasn't copying the area I was alt/clicking on. Any ideas?

make sure your on the right layer.
Yep.. that's most likely it... You can also check the 'Use all layers' box up top if that makes it easier for what you are doing.

When I left click the stamp somewhere on the screen a cross-hair appears where I clicked to copy the image, yet the stamp doesn't put that inside the circle. (if that makes any sense.)

Do you have a selection made? If so it will only work inside the selected area.

Here's an example... I'm trying to touch up the lines in the bottom of this picture. When I click on a part of their shirts to cover the line it doesn't work. (This is the method I used to 'remove' the staples in the pic I posted last week, it worked then, but it's not working now.)

Check your opacity setting as well.

Opacity is 100%? I seriously haven't touched anything from one picture to the next, I've been working on fixing b/w photos since I posted the first one early last week. Up until this problem I've been moving along without a problem. Sicc... .psd file? Bare with me, I'm a little stupid with this kind of stuff.
.psd file. thats the file photochops are. like when you save it it will save as a psd. file

All of my pictures are jpegs? The one up top is the current pic I'm working on, it saves as a .jpg. :iconfused
oh then im not really sure. when i save mine it automatically goes to psd. but depending on what sicc is trying to do. he could still fix up your picture with a jpeg. i dont even think this website will let you post psd. have you tried starting over? i dont know how much work you have in this. but it would be something i would try.
did you ever get the issue sorted out?

Nope :( I'm completely stumped.
did you try to start over? i mean i know it doesnt exactly fix the problem but maybe its just a problem with this file. :shrugs:

I've tried all the other pictures I need to fix and the originals of the ones I alreayd fixed. It won't work on anything. Just that tool. I really don't get it, I haven't touched anything or changed any preferances for selections.
Ok, select the tool, then press the 'print screen' key on your keyboard. Then press ctrl+N, Enter, ctrl+V, then save that as a jpg and post it up here. I'm sure one of the settings for that tool is messed up [I'm assuming the opacity or flow].

The use all layers option wasn't checked when I saved this pic, but I did have it selected when I was working on a picture like was suggested in this thread earlier.
Hah... change the mode on top from 'pin light' to 'normal' and you're set
