I checked my oil level yesterday, no problems.

I checked it again today while the car was in the shop getting warm. It's milky. Then I notice a stain on the front driver side corner of the motor and there is a little pool of coolant gathered under it.

The car was driven less than 15 kilometres between yesterday and today.

All this with just 58142kms (36129k miles). Pretty impressive.

Luckily, the car is still under warranty and they gave me a rental. A G6 or Pursuit would have been nice but I got a 04 Century.

I didn't think the LIM happened so soon on these cars.

I didnt feel like starting a thread for this but I just wanted to say that I got abnormally high miles on my tanks of gas after the repair. I installed the gasket two weeks ago and on my last tank of gas I got 334miles, I usually get 260 for same exact weekly drive. I did clean my air filter, and replace injector orings?? Oh well, guess its not a bad thing.

if you use the search engine and find the poll on "who's had to replace their LIM gaskets" or whatever it is. You will see that many ppl have had theres replaced at about that mileage. Mine was like at 36,000 or so also! Just remember the search engine is your friend!! :)

I did the search before I posted but I didn't find much in the way of milage.

I dropped the car off at 9pm last night and it was ready for me at 4pm today. I was very impressed getting the car back already. That makes two positive dealership visits for me. Knock on wood.

Mine went recently too and I'm at 125,000 Km or about 78,000 miles. Dropped the car off in the morning and had it back in time for supper. Although the cost will hold back on a few mods...

I had a GM inquiry system summary when I bought my car in April of '03...it says on it "J0259 - Lower manifold or gasket intake replace-gasket"

My question: this is the same thing correct? so most likely I wont have to worry about it? (replaced at 20,312 miles 11/4/02)

Well maybe (don't count your chickens b4 ther're hatched lol ), there are many ppl on here that have had to have ther LIM's replaced 2 or 3 times. So, most likely you are okay, but keep an "eye" out for it still (our GAs are really fun like that) !! :)

This morning after reading this post I check the oil cap, there was some beige cream just a little bit. Could the cold weather create humidity in the engine, then water and oil create that beige cream??

Mine was replaced at 72K miles. The previous owner never had it replaced...and the car was in an accident :( An accident so bad that the repair work was done cheaply...so cheap in fact that the car looked in mint condition....but now that I understand more about paint...its crap...front bumper for instance..you can see primer coming through the paint :(

Anyways...LIM gasket can go whenever....cost me $600 for the dealer to do it...where I go the techs rock ;)
