Well, it almost sounds like GXP is going to be Pontiacs Tuner Brand sorta like SVT, etc. etc.

GXP is what Pontiac is going to call their cars that come through General Motors Performance Division... like Cadillac is calling their performance cars V-Series... GM is finally moving towards performance again and i think it's long overdue...

I believe what McLeod meant when he said "Hurrah V8 Pontiacs" was just that Pontiac is going to possibly be offering V8's in a COUPLE of their cars; like the Bonneville and maybe the Grand Prix. I can't imagine GM dropping a V8 in a Grand Am. Although, I wouldn't mind it if they did  .

That's cute... still they need to bring back the Trans Am and Camaro if they really are gearing back twards performance.

Gm needs to push this line as quickly as possible. They need to make a special edition GXP Grand Am for the last year of the model. However, I wouldn't purchase it knowing a new model is right around the corner. With that said, I can see why GM may refuse to build a special edition. Then again, the grand am is pontiac's best seller so not doing so is a disappointment. Thats a dilemma. But if it were me up there, I would, without a doubt launch the Grand Am GXP as a mid-year 2003 car. But it's not me up there. :(

...from a business standpoint it makes every sense in the world to cut the Camaro/Trans Am line... these two cars aren't selling anywhere near the numbers they used to and they aren't selling as well as the Mustang is... now who's fault is that... it surely is GM's for failing to keep the Camaro/Trans Am up-to-date with market demands and trends... as an enthusiast i'm mad that these cars are being axed too... now rumour has that the Camaro will return in the future... GM execs have supposedly said that there is just too much with the name to just let it die forever ...it's also been said that should the Camaro return, the Firebird/Trans Am will not be at it's side... :(

the first GXP car will be the Bonneville... the Grand Prix and Grand Am will be next in line, but will be on the next generation versions and not the current versions... the Vibe and Sunfire GXP's are still being discussed...
