Exterior Door Panel

Hello, I noticed a popping noise when I opened the door. I looked on the outside and there is a crack on the outside driver door panel. When I open the door all the way it catches on another part of the car. In the picture (if it worked), the circled area is the panel I was wondering if I could replace and the arrow shows where the crack is. Is it a big deal to get that panel replaced? Will my warranty or insurance cover it? I don't know if I got backed into or if it just cracked from our -40 weather. Any help would be great.

Has the wind ever caught the door and opened it too far??? That's a common problem with the door catching the fender. If so have a body shop fix it, they'll take off the door and straighten the hinge.
