They might be intersted in making a body kit for our cars the 99+ grand am now which one would we all like to have made here is what the site admin has said:

"""Making the custom kit is not a problem. Fitment wont be an issue because we will fit and fit again before making the final product.

Decide within you board members to see what kits they want to be produced.

If you get at least 7 people interested in the kit (with $100 refundable deposits) then we can get this project going.""""

choose which one you like

Just a question but the original is the tuner car, right? Which look like the RK sport kit? If so, isn't there some sort of copyright? Just curious, but I could be wrong...

The last three are absolutely hideous. :vomit:

Does anyone even know if this site is legit? Has anyone seen a finished product from them on any vehicle? Seems a little shady, post on their forums and they'll make a body kit for anything. If that's the case then why hasn't anyone tried begging them before?
Also, these body kits are all pretty worthless if they're not going to make other accessories, ie. hoods and spoilers.

01-26-2005, 06:04 PM
History 101 is there anyway that you or any of us can check up on the legitamacy of this place. 100 dollars isn't a arm or a leg, but if I was to throw my hat in I would want to know that they are going to create something in the end and not have us on the hook waiting a year or 2 for the kit. I think I soeak for everyone on how long before we see a product and how much.

But I like
3 and 4
4 because it makes the car llok more flat and fast. but 3 is still no. 1

I would just buy the front bumper as a change out since I have another kit already

izayn
01-26-2005, 06:06 PM
Oh yeah can they make the hotwheels spoiler too?

Of those chops #3 looks the best by far. It looks like a nice cross between an rksport kit and the american racer concept (which was an awesome looking car). Pics here american racer (http://grandamgt.com/forum/showpost.php?p=578764&postcount=38)

folks your getting there with the style bring it down a notch or two. not so much flair out of pieces or too many small openings / vents etc .. don ' t think of the honda kits etc import kits . i realise it must be hard ... keep the photo's coming . you want a tuff and or aggresive look sporty . but not a stuck my finger in a electric sock look. or got hit by lightening look. if you know what i mean. too much freak and the buyers are limited . awesome photo jobs .

nicest front end the blue one with blk stripes photo # 3. maybe bring the lower bottom lip out a bit more ... with the side squrts at theeach underneath bottom areas make them look a little more like the sides skirts seen on older bmw's a dip i guess i can call it at each end . actually a little more then what the factory side surts look like. or using the side skirts on photo #2 just round on the sharpe edges some what . i like the look of the fender extensions . looks like a racing bmw m3 diecast i have .

ok here is the pricing you just have to add shippinf costs.
"
If you had 5-10 participants in the GB, the cost of each kit would be $450 each. MSRP after the GB will be $750.

Prices do not include shipping."

http://www.photoshopchop.com/contest/contest23/images/entry9.jpg

for that body kit................... now who is actually interested in this bodykit~~~~~!!!!!

only need about 7 people each have to put $100 bones down then pay the rest once production has been made

DrFabulous
01-29-2005, 02:04 AM
How long of a wait would we be looking for? Both when the GB expires and roughly how long we'd have to wait for the actual product?

Ok, so the GB doesn't end till there is 10 people. If I put in $100, how long am I going to have to wait for my product? 6 months? A year? It makes a huge difference in my decision. If I have to wait till next winter, I'm out, because it would have to sit till next spring to get on and painted. Any ideas History?

will this be made out of oem material or fiberglass. because if the blue one is made out of oem material the will get a lot of interest i know that.

2002GT
01-29-2005, 08:44 PM
oem material is a lot more expensive FYI...

the hotbodiez kit is $1500 and you get front bumper, rear bumper and side skirts...

quality costs money and no one likes to pay

if its fiberglass screw that i live in michigan im tired of fiberglass people rave about it try living in cold weather and have some retard slide into ur nice new kit at least poly bends back for the most part. A freind of mine smacked dead into a light pole his front bumper was all messed up but he let it sit out in the sun one day and it went back to its original form. Fiber may be cheaper but i rather pay for the quality. Either poly or that other newer stuff. if then ill give ya 100 right now and maybe a donor car if ur not that far away for a discout of course =)

I think before a lot of people put down the money their needs to be a few questions answered first, which was, material? How long the wait is going to be, and an actual sketch or photoshop or something of what is actually designed to be the finished product? Meaning the rear bumper.

The guy's response on the site: Making the kit in Polyurethane is a possibility, however we need a greater number of participants in the GB. (at least 50+). Since productions costs are extremely high, we would like to make the fiberglass version first and see what the demand for the body kit is like.

History101
02-02-2005, 05:32 PM
LISTEN THE KIT WILL BE MADE OUT OF FIBER GLASS FOR THESE 3 REASONS

1) Ease of repair. Some simple bondo and some touch-up paint will do wonders if it's a daily driver. Polyurethane is much harder to repair if you're a DIYer and sometimes nearly impossible.

2) Accomodation to "extras." If you don't like certain parts of the kit they can add, fill, shape or customize the fiberglass much easier than with polyurethane. Most aftermarket scoops, etc. are made of fiberglass and fiberglass molded to fiberglass is much easier than fiberglass to polyurethane.

3) Cost!

chevy355blazer
02-03-2005, 02:47 AM
in otherwords they dont wanna make urethane cuz it costs more and is prolly harder to make. yall must be from down south or west coast. we get winter we need urethane. besies fiber is also heavier for all u 1/4 timers out there. u can look great with a kit and go faster too

History101
02-03-2005, 07:42 AM
Potholes, snow or whatever- if your so damn worried about scraping then you should NOT purchase the kit in the first place. It's a trade-off to making the car look good. When you have ANY bodykit you have to learn how to drive correctly and carefully, be it ***, AAS, RK, SC/T, etc. The kit is going to be made of fiberglass, PERIOD. Your either in or out. It's as simple as that.

chevy355blazer
02-04-2005, 11:21 AM

Just an FYI, they can't make a urethane kit with the same kind of mold used for a fiberglass kit. It's a totally different process. That's why most companies involved in fiberglass bodykit's will never make a urethane kit. They don't have the money or resources to make the molds or get the equipment.

Looks like a functional vent. That's not a grand am hood of course, but thats the type of hood that I'd like to see get made. We've been trying to get someone to make that style forever.

I'd buy any body kit if someone would make a decent looking back end, not something that looks like ASS.

the hood will be in production once 7-10 pre-order

currently on www.gaownesclub.com there are 5 we need have or 2 more people it will be better if there was 10.

PLease post your user name and real name on list list if you want the CF HOOD made.

""""""'If you want us to get started on the hood, we would still need at least 7 people to take on the project.

Carbon Fiber - $450
Fiberglass - $325

Estimated time to make Plug is about 1-2 weeks. Once its finalized and test fitted, it can go into production which will be another 1-2 weeks."""""

Link no worky... I'd need to see pics of the proposed hood style b4 I'm in. I'm only interested in an EVO style vented hood, or maybe an SD style hood. One of those in CF for $450 and I'd definitely be in. Not interested in a stocker style of course. One question... are they going to have a full under side and be able to use stock mounting hardware, and if so will it be fiberglass or CF? Either will work as long as it's quality and not too heavy. I'd pay more for a 100% CF hood in the 10-12lb range.

03-03-2005, 07:37 PM
Hey, if no donor will commit for the four door model in Cali, I'll donate my ride. I live about 6 hours from SoCal. I could use a free kit and I've never had the chance to have something like this done before.

If you go over to www.makemykit.com the post went from making abody kit to making a carbon fiber hood. I would def be interested in the hood cause I plan on getting the JSP one, but I have a feeling this hood is never going to go into production...

i talked with cory the original starter of this thread he asked me to tell you guy to go onto www.makemykit.com and POST up if you want the kit or the hood made.

Serious individuals only because he gave up on the kit/hood because his ga is no longer being modified due to the fact he just got sent over seas again.

I don't know what the deal is with this, I assume everything has fallen through since the pictures are gone from this thread and the forums at makemykit.com are either down or gone, but I've always loved the hood for the 05 cobras. It looks just like the Carbon one posted but has 2 vents, matching the Ram Air on the bumpers of our cars. Just throwing my opinion out there, if there was a group buy for something like that I would be interested.

who honestly would be interested in something from him if he cant even hold a forum membership and needs to send a messenger boy to talk for him. probably worked out for the better now.
