Looking to sell my current surround sound speakers because I am decorating the basement in my new home and setting that up with new equipment. The 3 main speakers are different from your average populations volume buy. The center channel and L & R fronts are DCM Loudspeakers. They have since been bought out by MTX and are under their umbrella. The rears are JBL's
The center channel is a "big" center, it has (2) 6 1/2" mids and a 2" tweeter in it.
The L & R Fronts are floor standing and include a 2" tweeter, 6 1/2" mid and a 12" subwoofer. A standalone subwoofer is not needed if you are looking to keep a low budget.
Off the top of my head I don't know what the JBL50's have as far as speaker size, those grills do not come off and I don't have the booklet in front of me.
None of these are "awesome" speakers, but I think they are very good, and a very good price for someone on a low budget or just starting out with audio. I've never been able to turn up the volume that loud because of beign in an apt. but I know that the L & R fronts can thump even at moderate levels.
I don't have any pics at this time, but the DCMs look similar to these, but no gold and all black (and it says DCM on the center of the larger speakers).

I won't ship the floorstanders because they are mighty big, but I will ship the others. Would like to see if anyone wants it all firs before I would part it. Would take $200 for it all.

Oh snap, I forgot, I do have a pic of 3 of the speakers from when I was moving the last time. Grills are not removed though. All speakers are in great shape as is all the stuff I sell.
P.S. If you want those black crates to put them on and still allow some storage, I still have them and they are on the verge of being junked. I'll throw them in for free.

Bob, what's the specs on the floorstanders? RMS/peak watts, sensitivity, and all that jazz...

I don't know off hand but could look in the manual if it is really an issue. I had a harmon Kardon amp that initially was running these speakers and I couldn't play it loud enough to where the speakers couldn't take it. Unless you have a really high end amp with a lot of power I don't think you have anything to worry about. And if you have that type of amp then that person probably won't be buying these speakers ;)

all 5 speakers for $200?
edit: whoops... no shippy for the floor standers :( It'd probably cost a lot anyways. A good deal for someone close though.

yeah, shipping the floors would be a PITA. They are about 14" by 14" square, and 36" tall, weighing about 50lbs. Other than that, yes, all 5 for $200 or just the floors for $125

My frat house is in the market for a good pair of floorstanding speakers that have 12" woofers and are at least three-way. These ones look great to me, and if you don't get rid of them to someone else, let me know because we'll definitely take care of all the shipping costs of them. I don't want it to be a PITA for you, but I'm just letting you know it wouldn't be a problem for us to compensate for shipping.
We like our music to play really loud and often. How's the durability of the drivers? As long as they're above 120 watts RMS or so, we should be good. We have an old pair of Kenwood 4-way AAL series speakers right now rated at 200 watts RMS that pound pretty good, but they're getting really old and worn. Keep me posted on these, man...

I can find out tonight what there RMS is but I won't be able to post until tomorrow because I've switched internet at home and am waiting for the new eqipment/service turn on. I would imagine the Power RMS is around 225 and Power Peak about 450

I checked the booklet, it says that the acceptable power range is between 5 - 300 watts. Sensitivity is 98 dB. Even if you drop RMS to 175-200...I'll guess that you'd need one helluva receiver/amp combo to push that much to a single speaker....and you'd be deaf lol

If they don't sell then they'll be around Farzy. I'll just keep them hooked up until I am done painting and have my new TV, then I'll wire the new system. I'm on the verge of ordering an Athena Technologies system. I just bought a new Yamaha RX-v750 receiver to replace my Sony STR-DE875.

Bob, thanks for checking on the power ratings for me. My house just went ahead and bought two 500 watt 4-way floorstanders with 15's. They definitely do the job. Best of luck in the sale!

I have those same speakers. The model is KX12. They are badass. They pound pretty good even with low power. I had an old 1976 Pioneer 737 receiver hooked up to em and they would shake the whole house. Good deal guys! Snach em up!
Bump!

Farzy had some monetary demands come up.
Thanks OneFastGT...these things will pound and the center channel is clear as a bell. Nothing was wrong, just simply had the itch in the new house to have new gear to go with the new big screen.
I really want these to go...my RX7 does to, he's been lonely for a long time and needs some new toys. I will ship if someone is willing to pay.
$One-fitty!!!

$140 and I will bring these to someone if nearbye....meet you if you want to drive out this way.
Bob, we might have a deal. Let me talk to the folks when I get home and see if they want to do this....I'll let you know tonight. These would go great in our pool table/game/workout room!
Found out we have a surround sound set w/ receiver already, so guess we're gonna use that instead.

I told you I would box them up and ship them. But price would then be $250. Still a deal in my opinion.

How much would you sell just the center channel for? Shipped to 46077? I doubt my receiver at 100 watts per channel is gonna push those huge 12" subs that well.

I am not splitting them up at this time in case someone wants the set.

no...you still need to buy them. Your TV picture and sound have nothing to do with one another.

Nice speakers, Bob.
I'd be interested in the center only if you happen to part out eventually. I already have the KX-212 model (same as yours, but TWO 12's per speaker instead of just one..I love 'em lol) so I don't need the fronts.
Guys, these speakers sound real good. You'd be surprised how good.
And for all those worried that they may not have the power to run them- When I first bought them I hooked them up to a 10 watt x 2 max power cd boom box. Just for the hell of it.
Believe it or not, they freakin' cranked.
98db sensitivuty is no joke. They do NOT need a lot of power to get down. Anything over 50 watts should be fine. Of course, if you've got more, they'll take it.
And for anyone wondering about durability, I've had mine since 97 or 98. No problems at all. (older models than bob's, of course)
Bump for you Bob, and hope this info helps your sale.
