I have a 98 GAGT with a 3.1L and for about 6 months or so I have been getting a intermitted missfire when driving in wet conditions.
I have had several trips to the garage and have replaced:
Plugs
wires
coils
injectors
MAF
With no success. The mechanic even soaked the engine to try and make it happen with no success. When it happens on the road the tach jumps and it sputters for just a second, then is ok. It never happens unless it is wet out so I know it is some kind of water intrusion problem.
I think the problem lies on the bottom of the engine because it happens really quickly when the roads are just a little wet.
He soaked the crank position sensor as well with no luck.
Has anyone else had this problem? And if so what fixed it? Or what else can I check?
