It is available. You can delete your own POSTS. You can't delete your own THREAD.

still, that sux then.....why is it any different to delete ur own posts then ur threads? pointless if u ask me......specially in the for sale/wanted section........alot of garbage there and on the anything goes section etc.....

for example, i wanted some stuff from there but not anymore so that coulda been cleaned.....less clutter for the site.....oh well

This was agreed to a long time ago by the mods and admins. What was happening was people were posting flame/nonsense threads, letting people post to them, then deleteing them. Then we'd get 3-4 threads of "where'd such and such thread go". What most people don't realize, though, is that when you delete things they aren't really deleted. Admins/moderators still have access to the threads. We'd see 10 or so threads a day where people would start a stupid thread, then delete it (thinking nobody would see it) then start the exact same thread and delete it. It was more clean-up work than it was worth.

If you have a thread that you need deleled, PM the moderator for that catagory and we will gladly delete it.

Would it be possible to only allow the thread deleting in a section such as for sale / wanted? Cause once an item is posted as sold there's no sence in having it.

^^ yea that would work too....allowing to delete ur own threads @ least only in the 4 sale/wanted section...... I dont think ppl will go on there to joke, put a fake advertisement, etc.... then when the buyer or seller fulfill his/her requirements as to why he/she posted the thread, the author can delete it right away....

Thats kinda cool too....to have the members clean their own mess and be responsible and keep this place clean :D

or the people who started the thread could jsut post at the end that the item is no longer available

I find there are alot of sold, or item not avail. posts...so why keep the thread active? allowing the thread to be deleted by the creator kinda cleans up a bit of the mess.

Here's something I was just thinking, if the feedback feaure ever comes back. Trying to get rid of clutter in the for sale thread is cool, but doesn't it kind of defeat the purpose of the option of, when you give someone feedback, you can give a link to the thread it was sold in?

Like Ryan said, just PM the mod of that section, they'll gladly close/delete the thread for you.
