I am having trouble putting it back in. There is a black plastic plate inside the ceiling but there is nothing to hold that in place while I am trying to insert the assembly in. Any ideas?

Hmmm I remember when I did mine it was a b1tch. Not sure exactly how I pulled it off, I think I either did one of two things: put the plate on the light, and then put it back into headliner - or - pushed the hell out of the headliner / plate with one hand and really quick got domelight into position before it came down. It was just a lot of cussing pretty much.

I see you have a sunroof.....so this is how you do it.

Take the headliner down, where the sunroof is. There will be a rubber piece holding it up, just pull it down. Stick your hand up there, and hold the black piece down, while pushing up on the dome light.

the headliner is the "carpet" or whatever you want to call it on the roof. open your sunroof and do what 95gt said. you should see what hes talking about.

I did the sunroof thing for mine, it took me 2 hours to figure that out....

Ok, I will try that during the day. Now how are you supposed to do this when your GA is sunroof-less?

From the back window, sticking your arm way back there. lol

sunroof method worked well, only took me 30 seconds when I had to do it a few months ago. It did take me about 2 hours of trying to figure out how to get it back in before I thought of it though. The one guy said the dealership could probably do it for you if you have no luck with it.

Ok, I didn't wanna stick my hand up there. But I found a perfect solution. Just insert a cap from a pop bottle between the black plastic platform and the ceiling. Works perfect!!!
