I would like to change my rear shoes and drums.

Once the drums are removed do you need to remove hub or do you remove parts with it still on. Is there any special tools needed. It looks like a torex nut holding spring on. does anyone have pictures, step by step instructions or a web site to see. I really do not want to go out and spend $$$ on manuals or repair shop.

The drums may have a ridge of rust built up. This will prevent the drum from coming off easily. Once the drum is off, take a few minutes to study where every thing is and how it works. Take a digital picture or draw some diagrams of where the springs go. The first one is the hardest and if you get lost, go around to te other wheel to see where things are attached.

No special tools are involved. I use a couple of big screwdrivers to pry the drum off and big pliers to stretch the springs. I also usually buy a hardware kit when I replace drum brakes so I am working with new springs and clips.
