View Full Version : Colour of Rear Turn signals

I always wondered
Why our GA's have red coloured rear turn signals ?
I know in some Eurupean countries that vehicles must use yellow/amber colour turn signals.
Which I like better; because it stands out more than the red (which sometimes blends in with the red brake/tail lights).
I have seen before an earlier generation GAGT with yellow/amber coloured (via the lens) rear turn signals.
So what are your thoughts on this ?

Ya, all European cars and Asian cars have amber rear turn signals. American cars are the only ones that have red rear signals. Amber signals definitely stand out more, but tailights with just red lenses look better I think.
Our GA's have separate bulbs for brake lights and signals, but I hate when I see some cars have same bulbs for brake AND signals.

Or only 3-light bulbs for the brakes.
& 2 of them, also handle as turn signals.
You think we might want to see the car in front of us is stopping!
& those with only 3-lights bulbs for the brakes, seem to have one burned-out frequently.
I saw a Bentley once on a highway in real heavy down-pouring rain.
When it hit the brakes, you knew it.
It had big bright (I think) LED lights across the whole rear of the car, along with the rear tail-lights acting as brake lights.
From a distance that night: that Bentley logo on the back of the car; I almost mistaken it for a Chrysler lol
I was like, that is a really nice :wow: Chrysler, but it CAN'T be ! lol
