View Full Version : keyless range?

Is there any type of gain adjustment on the keyless entry receiver? I'd like to lower the range if possible. Although having a long range is nice it creates a problem if you hit a button accidentally while the keys are in your pocket. I've set off the panic alarm many times and have to keep the trunk remote disabled. BTW the batteries in the transmitter are original (4+ years).

There's no way to adjust the sensitivity of the keyless remote. It'll decrease as the battery wears down, but that's all.

You could replace the batteries. That would increase your range. Also, another security system could help. I have the commando FM-870, and I really like it. It works from so far away and lets me know. I am sometimes almost a 1/2 mile away and it still says its in range. Worth looking into. You can get it without all the fancy stuff (knock sensor, temp sensor) for a decent price (under $145). Good luck.
